Come Through Stronger

 

On Friday the 11th, on her way to school, our granddaughter Anna was involved in a bicycle accident; she suffered a broken leg and wrist, injured her little finger, and required stitches. She—and all of us—have cried a great deal, both from the pain and the trauma. Unfortunately, it took a long time for her to reach the hospital. Please pray with us for a speedy recovery.

                                                   

Grandma Anna is stepping in to help her for a few days now, but unfortunately, I cannot assist. Sad face. Believing that one will come out of this stronger... is not easy to do... in the midst of suffering.

We are happy to have 54 leaders from across the river here in Ubon for three days. They are enjoying the freedom to worship without fear. Laos has some freedom, but many things are still a struggle. Walking in someone else's shoes... is not easy, but it is a learning experience. And *agape* love is growing. Have a great week.

The Light ... and prevention

Prevention is a key part of the work here in Ubon-Pakse — not only regarding Child Protection Policies (CPP) but also in other areas of life. It gives value to people at the grassroots level. We listen to them and believe in them. Indeed, we all need help from God and from others to think ahead.

                                            

Many people here have suffered abuse and consequently believe that they must become strong enough to stand entirely on their own. It is hard for them to trust others. We therefore encourage people to talk to others and ask God for wisdom. Prevention helps the whole family—not least the children and teenagers.     

It is only the light—the Good News—that brings victory. We can than help others, go the extra mile and bless those who curse. It is God’s agape love... in action.
