Eng. Morning has broken
I was in the shower this morning, and suddenly the sun broke through the rain-heavy clouds and the tree branches outside, through the small window and 'hits' me. An old song from 1931 sort of explodes in my heart and I let the song flow over my lips, while being filled with wonder and joy.
Morning has broken
vers 3: Mine is the sunlight, mine is the morning
Born of the One light, Eden saw play
Praise with elation, praise every morning
God's recreation of the new day.
The text is breathing this deep truth that everything was created by the One Light.
Genesis
1 In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.
2 The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
3 And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light.
4 And God saw that the light was good. And God separated the light from the darkness.
John
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 He was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 In him was life, and the life was the light of men.
5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
9 The True LIGHT, which enlightens everyone, was coming into the world.
There is enough of clouds of worries and concerns on the skyline, to have a reason to be depressed and letting our 'harps' stay in the willow trees and let the worries quench to song.
During the recent 2-3 years we have experienced, more than ever, the importance of not allowing the darkness to quench the song. The song or worship helps us to refocus, to lift the eyes of our hearts above the clouds, to Jesus who is the true LIGHT and has conquered the darkness. And only through Him do we have light, even if everything is dark around us.
Mal 4:2 ''But for you who fear my name, the Sun of Righteousness shall rise with healing in its wings. You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall.
