Difference between Religion and Jesus

What is the different between religion and JESUS? Sometimes we can be tempted to work hard to tell people: Become a Christian because Christianity is the better religion. 

Religion says: You have to walk right, left, straight .... and hopefully you will be good enough to make it. In Ubon-Pakse the merit making is central. You are good enough if you have done enough merits. 

Jesus says: I have opened the way, by grace. I will walk with you and show you the way. 

"He comes alongside us when we go through hard times, 

and before you know it, 

he brings us alongside someone else 

who is going through hard times 

so that we can be there for that person 

just as God was there for us". 2 Cor 1:3 

I have in many countries been looking for new places. For Churches, houses, offices etc. Many times people has told me: Go right, go left, go straight and you will find it. But the best has always been if someone says; I take my MC och will show you the way: Follow me. 

This is what Jesus does: He knows the way and leads me.

How can we bless others 2022?

It's easy to give up these Corona-19 days, when it's harder to travel and harder to meet each other. Our experience since 1975 in Bangladesh is that during disasters, the uneducated and poor are always hit the hardest. They are filled with fear and in order to have food on the table, they sell what they have very sheep or take loans with high interest. Educated people often have an employment and "keep on running" almost as usual.

So these days we need to help even more those who are struggling. We can do it in 2 ways:

Outside: Give food, schooling, flower ++.

Inside: Give them JESUS. He only can Go-to-the-root of the problem…. even during a pandemic. My experience is that only Jesus can touch us deeply, and restore what has been broken. Make us to a new creation.

Dan 10:18-19 Then again, the one having the likeness of a man touched me and strengthened me. And he said, “O man greatly beloved, fear not! Peace be to you; be strong, yes, be strong!” So when he spoke to me I was strengthened, and said, “Let my lord speak, for you have strengthened me.”Jesus touched many New Testament times, and wants to touch us 2022 as well.

When I am touched by God, others experience that they too are touched by God. I say and do not just good thoughts or the right theology, but LIFE.

Jesus spoke from the Father's heart of God and did only the works of the Father. He can say and do the same in 2022:

If not, all I do and all I say are good thoughts in a dry and dead religion.

You touched me yes You touched me

And oh the joy that floods my soul

Something happened and now I know 

             You touched me and made me whole.
